Education

The perennial challenge with education and research projects is achieving an acceptable level of facilities and quality within the imposed cost limits. The input of an informed and experienced building services consultant in working within these constraints can greatly assist in achieving targets whilst obtaining best user value for money.
This is particularly important with the advent of local management of schools and related education reforms. Most schools are subject to close funding constraints and whilst fulfilling the budget requirements need to deliver good internal environments that promote a good learning ethos.
Stewart Associates retain wide experience in learning and education sector buildings and have been associated with numerous university, college and school projects, on several major learning centres across the country.
Stewart Associates have provided engineering expertise on projects of varying complexity, from simple lecture hall upgrades to full campus inter-departmental moves and new university learning centre facilities.
Our experiences have delivered new learning centres to major University campuses, complex Library refurbishments on live facilities and major infrastructure reconfigurations.
We have delivered a new Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility, one of only a select group within Europe, at Birmingham University, coupled with the complete refurbishment of the University’s Medical School Facility. We have also delivered the Aston Brain Centre which contains the only paediatric MEG scanner within Europe within a combined University Research facility that provides out-patient healthcare provision for the NHS.
