Health

Whether funded from the public purse or private, value for money is a critical element to a healthcare construction project. This has to be balanced along side the need for compliance in the production of a facility that is expert in all aspects but comfortable providing the ideal experience for the patient journey. The concern with cost must be complemented by a well developed awareness of the uses and work patterns involved and the imposed criteria such as the Capital Investment Manual; Health Technical Memorandums and Health Building Notes together with other NHS estates and British Standard documents.
Recent changes in healthcare procurement have seen the advent of PFI and procure 21 plus both of which have an impact on how healthcare projects are resourced and delivered.
Ever present is the desire of the Users to have more influence on their working environment and be a part of the decision making process that delivers quality healthcare facilities.
