Project Management

Project Management

Project Management, Strategic Planning, Cost Control & CDM

Within the building services sphere, we work on schemes that are engineering biased or led; where we have to act as lead consultant. We have performed this role successfully on numerous projects and we hold a dynamic and positive approach to each commission, muting or amplifying the management intensity, dependent upon the size and complexity of the relevant scheme.
We recognise that to be successful, a project must:

  • deliver the outcomes and benefits required by the organisation, its delivery partners and other stakeholder organisations;
  • create and implement deliverables that meet agreed requirements;
  • meet time targets;
  • stay within financial budgets;
  • involve all the right people;
  • make best use of resources in the organisation and elsewhere;
  • take account of changes in the way the organisation operates;
  • manage any risks that could jeopardise success;
  • take into account the needs of staff and other stakeholders who will be impacted by the changes brought about by the project.
  • Create a collaborative team working approach with our professional and team members.

Every project management life cycle contains five simple steps under which the above items are placed:

  • Initiation
  • Planning
  • Execution
  • Monitoring / control

No one step is more important than the other and each step plays a crucial role in getting the project off the ground and plans the race through to completion.
CDM Design
Stewart Associates operate within the limits of a strict health and safety policy that not only forms part of our Quality Assurance System, but percolates down through the designs we produce. We are accredited to a SSIP in the form of CHAS for health and safety and design and can operate as principle designer. We retain the services of an external Health and Safety Consultant and each employee has his / her own health and safety passport.
Stewart Associates have the ability to provide CDM co-ordinator duties for all projects. We ensure that we remain fully conversant with CDM requirements and procedures and have experience of successfully completing a number of projects where we have been commissioned as lead consultant and health and safety co-ordinator, whilst maintaining our responsibilities as designers.
